Yunhan’s Journey: From Newbie to Confident Leader

Chong Yun Han

Yunhan, 16, founder of Project My Voice and member of Architects of Life’s planning committee, joined the RE:CREATE team with little event experience but a lot of determination.

When she first accepted the offer, she was overwhelmed by the scale of the event. Yet, she quickly learned that growth often begins outside one’s comfort zone.

Juggling her year-end exams while drafting programme briefs for VIP guests and managing panel logistics pushed her beyond her limits. But each challenge taught her the value of teamwork and perseverance.

“When I first got the offer to join the RE:CREATE planning team, I was honestly overwhelmed. I’d never planned an event before, especially something this big. But I learned that some of the best growth happens when you step outside what’s familiar,”

Just days before the festival, Yunhan was unexpectedly asked to step up as a panel moderator, a role completely new to her.

Titled “The Frontlines of Change,” the session featured youth changemakers and community leaders discussing mental health, inequality, and empowerment.

Despite her nerves, Yunhan found her rhythm once on stage, turning anxiety into confidence through genuine conversation.
